The heart of any studio is its people. Here are the players who make ours what it is — and, in just a few years, where our first graduates have gone.
Current students
DMA · Studio Graduate Assistant
As the studio's Graduate Assistant, Cesar mentors undergraduates in technique and reed making. He recently premiered Norman Boehm's Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Gustav Mahler for oboe and piano at the IDRS Conference (Miami University), and spends this summer as a collaborative pianist at the Kent Blossom Music Festival.
DMA · Former Studio Graduate Assistant
Newly named Instructor of Double Reeds at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Libby substitutes regularly with the Amarillo Symphony, Oklahoma City Philharmonic, and the Lawton and Norman Philharmonics. Her festival work includes the Scotia Festival of Music and two summers on baroque oboe at the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute.
MM · Oboe
Daniel has performed at the last two IDRS conferences (Butler 2025, Miami 2026), working in masterclasses with Dr. Jung Choi and Toyin Spellman-Diaz, and world-premiered a new "flextet" for double-reed ensemble. His summers have taken him to France for the Interharmony Festival and the International Chamber Music Festival.

Gavin spent the summer of 2026 at the Rocky Ridge Music Festival.
Where our graduates are now
BM 2025
Now: MM at Indiana University, studio of Linda Strommen
After also earning acceptance at Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music, Addie is now at Indiana University's Jacobs School — one of the country's top oboe studios. At OU she attended the Rocky Ridge Music Festival and took Second Place (Collegiate) in the Midwest Double Reed Society's Eric Varner Young Artist Competition.
MM 2025
Now: Accepted to DMA programs at UW–Madison & LSU
Kinsten earned admission to doctoral programs at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and Louisiana State University.
BME 2024
Now: Head Band Director, Brink Junior High
Ryann leads the band program at Brink Junior High in Moore Public Schools — one of Oklahoma's strongest band districts.
