OU Oboe Studio
Oboe Studio Class
Where the whole studio comes together to learn, listen, and perform.
Studio class is where the whole studio comes together. Some of the most important things about playing the oboe are best learned side by side — in conversation, through demonstration, and by hearing each other play. Each year we return to the core ideas, and each year you meet them with more skill and understanding, so they keep opening up in new ways. It's a supportive room, and one of the best parts of studio life.

What to expect
Expect a lively mix — short talks and demonstrations, your own performances, group discussion, and presentations on the things that matter most: fundamentals, orchestral excerpts, goal-setting, practice technique, and staying organized. You'll prepare excerpts to play for the group, mark up your parts, and keep study notes on the repertoire we cover. Playing for each other every week is how nerves turn into confidence, and how practice turns into performance.
